Working with an existing piece means making decisions in response to what is already there. A seam changes the position of a print. A mark becomes part of a composition. A repair stays visible. The result can carry both its earlier life and the decisions made in the workshop.

Placement is part of the image. A graphic can sit quietly at the chest, spill into a seam or occupy an entire back. Scale, empty space and the colour of the garment all take part in the conversation.
